It is a very quiet unit with automatic sensors! A++ overall

I would highly recommend this unit to friends. First, the unit is functional. I mean it works well. It filters the dust, pet allergy and so forth nicely -- as I can see that from the filters. Second, it is very quiet. It has light sensor and has air quality sensor to adjust the mode of the operation dynamically (from Turbo to silent mode and vice-versa). I did check out 2 air purifiers from Costco and return them all after using RabbitAir. There is no way to beat Rabbit Air's stylish design, the noise level at operation. And the power consumption is the best. This is not a cheap unit anyway. I can purchase two units from Costco for the price of one here. But I think it is worth the money for long run -- low power consumption, good air quality produced, and stylish design. As for the technical (after sale) support, it is great. It should come with a wall mount kit though. As comparing it with the other rabbit air models, I personally like this unit better. Mainly, it is due to low operational noise. I hope you would agree with what I am saying here. Thanks.

Getting what you pay for...looks do count.

The product does everything that it said it would do and does it very quietly. The description says it will clean up to 600 sq./ft.. However, I find that it cleans the air in my entire house which is approximately 1400 sq./ft. I can no longer see the dust particles floating on beams of morning light coming through my windows. The air smells clean and I sneeze less often. I consider it a bit pricey but, I am not sorry; for it does the work of the four inexpensive ones that I owned preciously and looks a thousand times better while doing it. Another important fact is that I saved approximately thirty dollars, or more, by purchasing it from Overstock.com. One tip that I will offer is that before buying this unit: cut out a square of paper or find a box that approximates it's demensions; to use as a template, while getting a sense of how it will fit into the space that it may occupy. That way there will be no surprises

I love my Rabbit Air purifier. It arrived quickly, works wonderfully and was easy to set up. ..just unpack, pop in the filters, plug it in and turn it on. It is also extremely lightweight and can be moved from room to room, even by a child. My home now smells fresh and clean. Whenever I spray any type of chemicals in my home, such as bug spray or lysol ... or when I sweep or dust, the Rabbit Air kicks into high gear ridding my home of chemicals, smells and dust! That is something I need because my son has asthma and allergies. I'm thinking of buying two more. A second one for my house and one for my father's business. His patrons smoke and this would remove smoke from the air.

The price seems high, but I believe it's worth every penny. You will never regret purchasing it.

Quiet and Effective

Purchased March 08 - for the bedroom

Positives: It's narrow size and shape means it doesn't take up much space in the room. At medium level it is quiet and not a distraction, though you do hear it. I have had chronic sinusitis, probably from our cats. The impact since purchasing it: 1) I now breath through my nose when sleeping; 2) my sinuses are clearing up w/o taking any antibiotics.

Deltas: When using it on low one night - I found that I had to breath through my mouth and awoke with my nosed stuffed. It was not very effective at that speed for me.

Overall: It is expensive but more suitable for the bedroom than the Honeywell we purchased. However, the Honeywell has done an excellent job in the basement.

Love this Air Purifier

We bought this air purifier as both my husband and I suffer from allergies and I often wake up with headaches. I noticed a difference in the air within a few hours of turning it on and I have not had a morning headache since. We also have 2 Boxer's (dogs) and notice huge improvement in dander as well as dust in our bedroom. The air smells so fresh. We also love the "auto" mode and that at night when we turn the lights out it automatically turns off the lights on the unit and the fan to silent mode - which is sincerely practically silent. We love this machine.

Very Nice

I was reluctant to pay this much for the purifier. However, after some research I purchased it. I've had it for almost a month now. I have a dog and carpet, so I needed something. I wanted it because my new home is so tightly closed up the air seemed to not be fresh and also allergies. It can tell when something is in the air and works pretty well. I can definately tell a big difference when at home or in the morning with my allergies. So just that being said, makes it worth it for me.

Rate the Rabbit

This product is all that it is advertised. It is very quiet - except when it is in turbo mode. That can be quieted for sleep by placing the unit in sleep mode. I haven't had to change the filters yet, but understand that it is easy to do.

very very good.

delivery was quick - item arrived perfectly and most importantly it does what it promised. i use the aircleaner in my bedroom and you can just feel the freshness. i used it in my living room and thought it wouldn't make a difference. it has. my asthmatic sister says she doesn't wheeze when at our home. and guess what - me too.
the product is very sleek and quiet. it'll rev up the engines once in a while when there's extra pollution.
this air cleaner has truly made a difference. prior to this we had purchased 2 expensive cleaners from sharper image. both conked out quickly.

great product

Our house is heated with a woodstove and we have animals. Our pediatrician recommended an air purifier. This is extremely quiet. Sleek design makes it fit easily where I would like it. Regulates air quality based on smell and particles in the air separately. I like that the filters can be washed and not have to be replaced for roughly three years. Relatively new so difficult to judge if a huge difference in air quality has been made at this point.

Top Rated by Consumer Mags & Websites - I Agree

First, Thank you Rabbit Air for your contributions to the fight against Breast Cancer. This is an outstanding room air purifier. It is quiet and quickly senses the change in the air quality. How sensitive? I have two long haired dogs. If they walk by the Rabbit after a romp in the woods, the machine increases its recycling speed within about 10 seconds.

I have owned this unit for about seven months now. I selected the Rabbit not only because of the well deserved top reviews but also because of the filter system that does not require replacement as often as competitor models. When pricing an air purifier, it is recommended that one consider not only the pruchase price but also the frequency and cost of replacement filters. Regular vacuuming extends filter life substantially. Regrettably, I am a terrrible housekeeper and as a result buy filters more frequently. I have just ordered my second HEPA filter and my first characol filter replacement for about $75. That is still substantially less than what I would have paid if I had purchased another unit. If you vacuum regularly and dust often the filters will last far longer.
This is an outstanding unit. Rabbits customer service is world class. Filters are sent out within a day of the order.

It works!

I purchased this based mostly on reviews. I have a small yorkie in my home and my niece loves to come over to play. Within 5 minutes of being here, she was sneezing nonstop. I already had a $600 Air puifier running 24/7 which was very noisy and ineffective. I had the new unit in my den for about a week .The next time my neice came she was fine! I love to set it on auto and when it senses something in the air quality, it goes into TURBO! Cooking, painting nails etc. My daughter came home from college with a stomach virus....The machine went into her bedroom and no one else in my home caught it! I must say, I am pleased with the results. Unless unit is on turbo, you cannot tell it is on. very quiet.

So much better than described!!

Received this product about a month ago. Easy to use, works by itself! I just leave it on Auto Mode in the family room. At dinner time, the odor sensor kicks into high gear, and when my kids are running around the room, the dust sensor goes crazy! The house has never smelled so fresh! Best product next to sliced bread!!

Top Notch Performer

I am very impressed with this air purifier, the Rabbit Air BioGS Model 582A. It's very well designed right down to the packaging (takes 3 mins. to unpack and set-up). Clearly written instructions which are almost unnecessary since the machine is so intuitive and does a terrific job in the AUTO mode. Easy to operate remote control the size of a credit card. The key to this purifier is the HIGHLY sensitive sensors -- one for odors and one for particles (like dust). They really, REALLY work! I smoke and within 30 seconds of "lighting up," the sensors detect the smoke and the machine revs up into a higher cleaning mode. When the air is clean, it cycles downward. On the lowest speed it is extremely quiet; on the highest speed it's louder of course, but still pretty quiet. The lighted display panel lets you know exactly what it is doing and is easy to read. It produces negative ions but no ozone. Two of the three filters are washable and the third lasts 18 - 24 months (and is reasonably priced). The display panel lets you know when it is time to clean or replace the filters.

You get what you pay for

If you're reading this you're likely doing what I did which is to do a lot of research before purchasing an air purifier. I looked at a number of options, including less expensive air cleaners but I found that if you want to "clean" the air you need to buy an air cleaner with a fan. While fans can be noisy, they work. Sharper image's ionic breeze, without a fan, will collect dust. A table cloth collects dust. The latter will not purify the air so don't fall into the trap thinking the ionic breeze will. I also recommend staying away from any purifier that produces ozone which causes some people to have negative side effects. I really was impressed with this company and spent a lot of time on their website talking to their customer service representatives through an instant message program. They are extremely fast to help and provide good feedback. I've had mine now for two weeks and keep it at a speed level 2 which is audible, but still soft enough to tolerate. The fan is deep within the unit so there is no worry if you have pets. A definite buy. If you want an air purifier you need a unit with an HEPA filter and this price is hard to beat for the quality.

Novelist Loves It

Okay, I just replaced the HEPA filter in my unit for the first time (after almost a year of use) and figured I'd write a review. I'm a writer working out of my home and, between sleeping and working, spend a lot of time indoors! I'm so happy with this product that I bought a second one for my writing area. Here's the rundown, negatives first:

Light panel is crazy bright, too bright at nighttime for sleeping. You'll probably want to cover it with something. Also, whenever you change a setting such as fan speed, the ionizer automatically comes back on. No biggie, you'll just have to press the button on the remote to turn it back off. Lastly, you will have some maintenance every few months (vacuum air sensors, vacuum filter, rinse and soak charcoal filter). But I've never had an air filter that didn't require some sort of maintenance. And this product's benefits FAR outweigh the negatives.

Air smells fresher and cleaner, and my allergy/sinus problems are nearly eliminated. Operation is quiet, and if you put it on night mode for sleeping, you can't hear it at all. Overall design is large, but sleek and it fits nicely against a wall. If you're disappointed in other products, give this one a try. After a year of use, I'd STILL highly recommend it to anyone. T. Truthfully, I cannot see a difference.

I purchased this product 2 years ago on the advice of my allergist. I LIKE this machine. It is attractive and quiet (nearly silent) and blends in well with the decor. I am certain it is doing something because it comes on at the slightest provocation - spraying perfume, dusting, etc... But I do not feel it is doing enough of it to make a noticeable improvement in my health status.

I change the filters slightly more frequently than required and I find that although they list the charcoal filter as "washable", the paper border on the filter disintegrates when you get it wet. I also purchase the "flu prevention" filter and my husband is in bed with the flu as we speak...lol. It happens, I guess.

I am not sorry I made the purchase but I am unlikely to purchase another one for additional rooms as I had originally planned.

Great Air Purifier

I bought the Rabbit air purifier because I was having allergy problems. While in my home, I was having headaches, nasal congestion and sneezing. After using the Rabbit, my allergy symptoms improved markedly. Although, I still have some of symptoms, they are greatly reduced. I would recommend this product to anyone with allergens in their house.

Not only did it reduce the allergens, it also helps with mitigating cooking odors and other smells in the house. Coupled with negative ion generator, the air in my house seems much fresher and cleaner.

Works GREAT!!!!

I have had TWO Ionic Breezes and both broke/burned up within two years. The Rabbit, although a little bit noiser, seems to pick up three or four times as much dirt/link/pollen in its filter then the Ionic Breeze did. I a very, very please. Great packing and RAPID shipping. Think I will get another one for upstairs.
