Kudos to Rabbit Air
We are very pleased with this product, we are temporarily living/traveling in our RV with our 4 cat children. Our Rabbit Air runs quietly, we started using it the minute it was delivered (3 days ago), and we can already tell an improvement in the air quality. The silver color and sleek modern design are attractive. It will also be used in our home, when we are finished RVing. Definitely love it, and will recommend it to others. Although we were hesitant at first to spend the big bucks for it in these hard economic times, we are glad we did. You get what you pay for !!!!

just as expected
This product arrived before I expected it and in perfect condition. It was slightly larger than I thought it would be. The air in our home does seem crisper in the room where it is placed. I have been able to dramatically reduce the amount of allergy medication I need to take since purchasing this purifier. The display is a little bright for use in a bedroom. To solve that problem, I taped a small piece of black paper over it and simply lift it when I want to change the settings with the remote.

plus: odor; minus: bright lights in night mode
This was my first standalone air purifier purchase,
although I have been using HEPA filtering in forced-air HVAC sysems for about 20 years. Rabbit Air units appear to offer lower-than-average long-term maintenance and supply costs,
and the BioGS models reportedly incorporate better odor sensors and filtering than MinusA2 models.
Odor sensor and filtering is important in my office building, which has mold problems. After replacing office carpeting,
outgassing from Armstrong's recommended floor tile wax is problematic for weeks after application, so I leave the BioGS on 24/7 to deal with both.

The first unit was DOA; a plastic strip to protect motor wiring was incorrectly installed, jamming the blower.
I bought a second BioGS to supplement HVAC HEPA filtering in my bedroom.
A MinusA2 would probably have been a better choice there,
since BioGS's bar graph rarely registers odors,
and control panel display lights are unaffected by selecting night mode.
Night lights are distracting and unhealthy;
the MinusA2 has a light sensor to set night mode and kill display lights.

Great Choice for Cleaner Air
I researched over the internet & in some local "e;allergy"e; stores & big boxes before making the purchase of the Rabbit Air BioGS. I wanted to reduce the amount of dust, pet dander & pollen in my large bedroom. I have used it for the past 3 weeks & I can say I am pleased with a noticeable reduction in dust. I have slept better also. I decided a HEPA filter was mandatory to deal w/ the dust, dander & pollen.

The unit can be set to be so quiet that I cannot hear it when sleeping. Settings easily changed with a remote to a stouter (& noisier mode) to deal with odors, or dander. Some say it does not change the air in the room as fast as other brands. It is far superior to the very expensive Sharper Image unit I bought a couple of years ago that was more expensive.

Highly recommend this for the technology its using for the price. Updated styles of this unit are now out, but it seems the core technology is the same.

RabbitAir BioGS
I researched online for months for the perfect air purifier at a reasonable price. I already had an air purifier prior to purchasing this and needed another one for downstairs to cover a larger space. I suffer from seasonal and year round allergies and I also have multiple chemical sensitivities (almost all smells bother me). I was impressed with the reviews I found on overstock.com, however, I did not have such a great experience myself with this product. The air purifier arrived almost immediately thanks to overstock and as soon as I followed the directs and tested out the purifier it began to rattle on medium to high settings. I checked with overstock to see if this was normal and they directed me to Rabbit Air's website. Rabbit Air unfortunately took several days to get back to me yet indicated that the machine is ok to use and might rattle depending on the surface its on and setting. I was ok with that. After about two weeks of use I checked the air purfier to see if it was indeed picking up air pollutants and allergens and to my surprise it was filled with dust and needed to be cleaned. I vaccuumed the air purifier approximately every other week from then on and after nearly two months the change filter light came on. I was extremely disappointed because one of the main reasons I bought this was because of the long filter life expectincy. In my honest opinion this air purifier is not worth the money because the sensors almost never come on (I almost always keep it on auto) and it does nothing to combat smells, even one day I sprayed an air freshener infront of it to see if the odor sensor would pick it up and it did not. This air purifier is more expensive than my other air purifier that covers half the sq footage yet seems to work 100 times better than the Rabbit Air. I would recommend this only to someone who wants to minimize dust in the air because it does little to nothing for my allergies as well as smells. The Rabbit Air's does have a sleek design, great color choices, easy to use remote... but it's pros end there.

Excellent Air Purifier - We Own TWO of them Now......
We ordered this item this year due to the illness in our home that would not leave. I have 3 kids and they just keep carrying germs back home from school....we all got tired of being sick.
Step 1 - Humidify.
Step 2 - CLEAN the air.
Step 3 - Sleep Peacefully.

The item arrived promptly and setup was a breeze. The documentation was clear and concise and thus removing/installing filters and covers was a breeze. We were up and running in less then 10 minutes.

We have been using it for about 2 months.more or less...in the AUTO mode setting. The unit runs silently 99% of the time...unless it detects dust and or a odor that it feels it must clean....whamo TURBO....

We cook spicy food and sometimes the smell can be overbearing...if not irritating. This thing really fires up when it detects anything out of the norm in the air.

When the heat kicks on and the dust is circulating...the Rabbit hops.

Quick addition 02/20/09: We had family over and moved the unit in the family room so that it would keep the air feeling clean and fresh.... While you cant really hide the great aromas of a family dinner......you can get rid of the musty smells. The rabbit touched turbo once or twice...but it didnt go crazy when it smelled ham or turkey. :-)

Works well so far
I have had the BiosGS for about one month. We keep it running all the time, and it is clearly keeping the air cleaner. I am glad we bought. Hopefully I'll feel the same in the long run. (I'd give the unit 5 stars, but I haven't had it long enough.)

We love it and so far it seems to be helping my kitty allergies. Very well made product. I highly recommend it!

State of the Art Air Purifier
After looking around for an air purifier for about one year I settled on this one for several reasons and I am glad I did. I have asthma and am very sensitive to dust. and certain odors. The other air purifier I had made a great deal of noise and did not address VOC's or odors issues which I also react to. This air purifer is extremely quite. At first I even wondered if it was purifiing the air becuase it was so quite. However, I noticed that I was sleeping better the first week of owning it and also noticed that it went into a higher mode when there were certain odors in the air. I appreciate that it has an air sensor which actually can pick up odors and levels of dust in the air. I keep the purifier mainly in my bedroom but at times I move it to the kitchen when I am cooking and strong odors permeate the air.

Well worth the money!
Wow. This is my first air purifier. I cannot believe I went all these years without one. Before when I would walk in my house after a long day I would feel that my house had an old, damp, & musty smell. Now when I walk in there is NO smell at all. I wish I could afford one for every room but this thing is so light that I put in in different rooms every few days & the fresh smell stays long after the unit is moved. I sleep so much better with this thing because its such a quiet noise that is not annoying like a regular ceiling fan.

Excellent Product
I purchased the BioGS 582A about 9 months ago and so far I have been very pleased with it. There are several highlights:
- The auto feature works extremely well; I leave the BioGS on auto 24 hours a day and it takes care of any smells. I have two cats, and only a few seconds after you hear them digging around in the litter box the BioGS detects the scent and kicks up the fan speed.
- The overall performance is exceptional. I live in Phoenix which means my windows have to stay shut all summer. Despite the lack of outside air, the BioGS keeps the air smelling fresh all summer.
- The customer service is great. When it first arrived, part of the Carbon filter was broken. Rabbit Air sent me a brand new filter the next day absolutely free.

The only downside is that the fan can be noisy when it's on full blast. At the lowest setting you can't hear anything, but when it moves to a higher setting you definitely need to turn the TV up.

Overall I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for an air purifier system.

Only filter out of 5 to remove dog smell
The product works really well, its very sensitive. It sense smell and particles. it has an area for smell and particles and it monitors the air and turns up and down as needed. I put on perfume by it and the smell sensor goes way up and it cranks up, the dogs run by it and the particle indicator goes up and it turns on. you can also set it on manual but its cool. the thingi really liked about it is the rest all have like $100 a year in filters you have to buy and this has washable filters even for the hepa. I think it has helped a lot, i have 5 dogs inside and it has significantly improved the smell of my house

Excellent Product
Although the Rabbit Air BIOGS 582A is a bit expensive, it is a well built product and seems to do an excellent job cleaning the air in our house. It is attractive looking, quiet to run, the filters are easy to clean and replace, and the replacement filters are reasonably priced. The manual is well written and the unit's panel easy to use. I now have two Rabbit Air purifiers and would buy both again if I had to replace them. If it hadn't been for the higher price, I would have rated it five stars.

magic rabbit
As other reviewers have said, it's very easy to set up. So easy, in fact, that I did it with a migraine and hay fever in a couple minutes, switched it on, and fell back into bed.
It definitely works on odors once you've demonstrated to it what clean air is like (it "e;learns"e; based on the last time you put the plug in the wall). I tried letting it loose on tea tree oil smell when I'd been doing some cleaning, and it got rid of the very strong smell quite quickly. It worked on my whole apartment, which is under 780 square feet but has some twists and turns in it.
It's harder to tell immediately about particulates (e.g. pollen), but my allergies are a lot better since I got it.
Minor gripes: it has a "e;pollen"e; setting that I somehow thought would specifically seek and destroy pollen, but it doesn't- that setting just regulates the fan speed in a way that's supposed to be helpful in allergy season. Not a problem, just not what I'd hoped for from looking at the control panel. And on the "e;auto"e; setting, mine is so sensitized to smells that it kicks up to high speed quite frequently when there's nothing different that I can detect, and I've got a very acute sense of smell. So on that one, I guess I'm complaining that it's too effective! I'll either try to desensitize it a bit or keep it on something other than "e;auto"e; when I'm sleeping.
As an added bonus, it's very cute, and the "e;auto"e; setting makes it seem like it has a personality. I'm tempted to get a smaller one (in green, perhaps...) for my office to get rid of the dust mites there and keep me company.

Rabbit Air
suffer from pollen to the point that I cannot breathe at night. Purchased the Rabbit Air BioGS 582A. A remarkable machine. It does all that manufacturer claims. What I like best is the automatic selector which monitors odors and airborne particles. The machine than adjusts the filtration speed of air flow until the air quality is back to normal. When I first installed the unit, it ran for a few days starting out on high and slowly ramped down as the air quality improved. Very satisfied with this unit. I am considering purchasing a second one for another area of the house. Live in New Jersey. Love it ,Robert I

First impressions
It came on time, came out of the box alright and was a breeze to set up. I've never even seen one used before so this was a big experiment. I bought it for the kitchen (poorly ventilated but huge) to see if it helps. So far it's passed the onion / garlic / cooking prawns test with only minimal residual smell. Living in an asian household, the big test will be smelly fish, fried chilli and lemon grass and the inevitable fish sauce - I'll let you know how I get on but impressed for now.

Love it, wouldn't trade it!
After plenty of research and reading reviews of air purifiers I finally decided on the Rabbit Air BioGS. It's not as loud as other reviewers have written out to be. Just popped it out of the box, removed the plastic, returned the filters to the unit and pressed power. I love it, has automatic setting. I have 3 dogs and 4 cats. Amazing
I was elated to finally find a product that actually works. This air cleaner removes all odors from the house and senses when the air quality is poor. It comes on immediately when I start sauteeing onions, or when I was using paint thinner to clean a brush. The ultimate test was frying taco shells, fried catfish and onion rings. Usually the smell permiates the house and takes forever to dissipate. After frying, we left the house and came back a couple hours later....no smell. Wish I could afford one for each level in my home but at least I have one for the kitchen. Worth every penny and a key feature for me are the cleanable filters. It has a great design and I was able to mount this on my wall out of the way. So many others take up quite a bit of space on the floor.

The Rabbit - is it worth it?
I researched for days on what airpurifer to buy. I looked up information on all credible websites including consumer reports. I did price comparisons and all kinds of processes before I bought the rabbit. It's a great machine. It definetly circulates air. It does not give you that clean smell feeling like some of the ionic breezes do as I have been told. I can definetly tell a difference in the dust and pet dander and definetly most of all the pollen. I wish that it would pick up more dust than it does. The auto switch is awesome because it turns to red and helps filter air only when it needs to. It is very quiet and the look is the most slick I have seen. I am not sure it is worth the money because it is the only purifier I have - I can not compare it to others. I have considered getting a cheaper ionic breeze for downstairs. This one works well up or down but does not get my entire 1200 sq ft condo. I think you will be happy - I just wish that more people had info on it from a review perspective. I think it is too new. Very pretty and works well though! I am happy with the purchase.

A Powerful Difference
We own a smaller home (1200 sqft) and have three children, three dogs and two cats. We purchased the RabbitAir BioGS to attempt to clean the environment in our home. I can't overstate the affect it has had on the air.

I hope I don't gross anyone out here, but I want to provide evidence to how well this thing works. Having said that, one of the very real ways you can tell is the stuff (or lack of) that comes out of your nose! After two months of using this machine, we have noticed a huge difference in dust etc. that gets caught in the computer intake, on the furniture, in the vents and in our noses.

Also, you can just tell a difference in the air quality. We live in the Atlanta area and are often under air restrictions. But at least inside our home we know that the air is much cleaner and healthier than outside.

I highly recommend this machine. It is easy to use, well-made, and above all else, delivers noticable results.

Great for allergy sufferers
My pollen allergies and my husband's cat allergies are so much better with these units- we just love them. One in the bedroom, one downstairs taking care of the rest of the house. I had a Hunter air cleaner that was great - lasted 5 years, but gave up the ghost - this is so much better at removing dust and allergens. This unit has several sets of filters, it's stylish in the room, has great settings (I've got it on Pollen now, for the spring), and a dandy remote control. At first I thought they were a bit expensive, but looking around I saw comparable units were the same (or more), and gave less in the quality of the filtered air. A quality peice of engineering - I'm glad we bought two!

Great device - very clever, very quiet
I did alot of research on air purifiers as I had bought a cheap one and found it made a big difference to air quality in our new house which has baseboard heat and very poor airflow. I dont have any allergies but found that the house got quite stinky and cooking smells were hard to disperse without using floral airfreshners. Fresh air in the bedroom helps sleep quality enormously. The cheap one was rated as "e;quiet"e; but still sounded like a jet engine to me. Chose the Rabbitair one as the reviews suggested it was very quiet (except one - who must have a faulty one) and I have to say its unbelievably quiet in night mode, you wouldnt know it was there. Its very good at sensing particles and smells, in auto-mode it wound itself up within minutes of my husband painting, and also when I started using my face powder brush. This unit is expensive but worth it - and you can have fun torturing it with smelly things and dust.

i love this product
I just love this product. It does everything that it says it will do. I have many animals in my house so that was one of the reasons I bought it was for odor control. It works wonders. Also since we live in the south pollen here is horrible. I have noticed a big difference since having it that in the mornings the kids and myself aren't congested when we wake up. I would recommend this product to anyone. Was kindof skeptical on the price, but to have clean air for my children it was well worth every penny. I even plan on getting another one so I don't have to keep moving from the front of the house to the back of the house at night.

Top Notch Performer
I am very impressed with this air purifier, the Rabbit Air BioGS Model 582A. It's very well designed right down to the packaging (takes 3 mins. to unpack and set-up). Clearly written instructions which are almost unnecessary since the machine is so intuitive and does a terrific job in the AUTO mode. Easy to operate remote control the size of a credit card. The key to this purifier is the HIGHLY sensitive sensors -- one for odors and one for particles (like dust). They really, REALLY work! I smoke and within 30 seconds of "e;lighting up,"e; the sensors detect the smoke and the machine revs up into a higher cleaning mode. When the air is clean, it cycles downward. On the lowest speed it is extremely quiet; on the highest speed it's louder of course, but still pretty quiet. The lighted display panel lets you know exactly what it is doing and is easy to read. It produces negative ions but no ozone. Two of the three filters are washable and the third lasts 18 - 24 months (and is reasonably priced). The display panel lets you know when it is time to clean or replace the filters.

You get what you pay for
If you're reading this you're likely doing what I did which is to do a lot of research before purchasing an air purifier. I looked at a number of options, including less expensive air cleaners but I found that if you want to "e;clean"e; the air you need to buy an air cleaner with a fan. While fans can be noisy, they work. Sharper image's ionic breeze, without a fan, will collect dust. A table cloth collects dust. The latter will not purify the air so don't fall into the trap thinking the ionic breeze will. I also recommend staying away from any purifier that produces ozone which causes some people to have negative side effects. I really was impressed with this company and spent a lot of time on their website talking to their customer service representatives through an instant message program. They are extremely fast to help and provide good feedback. I've had mine now for two weeks and keep it at a speed level 2 which is audible, but still soft enough to tolerate. The fan is deep within the unit so there is no worry if you have pets. A definite buy. If you want an air purifier you need a unit with an HEPA filter and this price is hard to beat for the quality.

Novelist Loves It
Okay, I just replaced the HEPA filter in my unit for the first time (after almost a year of use) and figured I'd write a review. I'm a writer working out of my home and, between sleeping and working, spend a lot of time indoors! I'm so happy with this product that I bought a second one for my writing area. Here's the rundown, negatives first:

Light panel is crazy bright, too bright at nighttime for sleeping. You'll probably want to cover it with something. Also, whenever you change a setting such as fan speed, the ionizer automatically comes back on. No biggie, you'll just have to press the button on the remote to turn it back off. Lastly, you will have some maintenance every few months (vacuum air sensors, vacuum filter, rinse and soak charcoal filter). But I've never had an air filter that didn't require some sort of maintenance. And this product's benefits FAR outweigh the negatives.

Air smells fresher and cleaner, and my allergy/sinus problems are nearly eliminated. Operation is quiet, and if you put it on night mode for sleeping, you can't hear it at all. Overall design is large, but sleek and it fits nicely against a wall. If you're disappointed in other products, give this one a try. After a year of use, I'd STILL highly recommend it to anyone. T. RabbitAir BioGS
Highly recommended. This air cleaner has a long-lasting HEPA filter (lasts 3 years with 12 hour/day use), a large charcoal filter that is washable and threrefor reusable, and a large selection of modes for different purposes such as pollen, night mode, turbo, etc., and even comes with a remote. Also has a negative ion feature which you can turn on or off. Negative ions trigger seratonin in the brain which is a chemical responsible for happiness. Think beach, waterfall; these areas are full of negative ions and many people are drawn to these types of places without knowing why. Well, that's the reason. This cleaner has a serious motor and fan and is very quiet compared to other more expensive models which I have owned. I have had other such models which would clean only one room in my apartment, however this one is rated to clean approximately 780 square feet, which is my whole apartment! And it really works. You can tell the difference in air quality almost immediately. I've never written a review for anything before, but this product was so good I felt compelled to let people know.

RabbitAir SPA-582A
We are very happy with our well designed Rabbitair, it is working wonders. We noticed in just a few hours the air smelled better to us. Our home now does not smell quite so doggie. The dust is now on notice and it is loosing its foothold! I like the easy access to the filters to be able to clean or replace them without much hassle. With the added bonus of new bio tech - Bio-Engineered fiber material which traps and destroys the allergens and contaminants along with flu prevention has us reassured. Some people complain about the noise but it's not that bad at all. You know who snoring, the dogs barking the college student coming in at all hours and the neighbor's potato launcher cannon going off is way more problematic! Noise! What noise? It's more like music! The Rabbitair is a little pricey but a long warranty, reasonable costs filters and the added wash ability makes the Rabbitair a long term practical choice.

Bio Fresh is the Best
I have problems with airborne allergens and with asthma. I have spent nearly two thousand dollars on different air cleaners over the past ten years. They all proved to be ineffective, noisy, ugly, and/or overpriced. The Bio Fresh works for me. None of the others did. I enjoy the several different modes of cleaning available. It is an attractive machine that fits nicely against a wall. Everything about it is well thought-out. It is well worth the money. I just purchased my second Bio Fresh air cleaner and it was delivered earlier than expected. It has helped my breathing more than all the antihistamines, inhalers, and all the other machines combined.
